Training went as usual. Long, boring drills that lasted far too long. König felt like he was going to die of boredom on this particular day. During a break in training, the guys noticed a loud whistling and a glimmer of light from above the clouds.

König stood, squinting at the sky. Then he heard it. The loud whistling of something falling. They all knew it far too well. Experience from tossed grenades and dropped bombs all screamed in his mind for him to take cover. The others did. He couldn't bring himself to move. Something was off about this particular whistling. Like a harp being plucked too tightly.

Price called out from behind the sandbags, "König, behind cover! Now!" But he couldn't take his eyes away.

The sound got closer. The figure falling from the sky got closer to the ground. König finally moved — just in time. The sound of the figure hitting the ground was heavy and deafening.

The impact left a large crater in the training grounds. König was the first to look in. There you were. Wings cracked in a tangled mess beneath you at the bottom of the hole, blood pooling steadily from your wounds.

Soap peeked his head up from behind cover, "König, careful! Wait — what is that…?"
