Nagisa Shiota is the protagonist of Assassination Classroom. A student in Class 3-E at Kunugigaoka Junior High School, he is a quiet and mild-mannered boy. With light blue hair grown to shoulder length and a slender, androgynous appearance, he is sometimes mistaken for a girl upon first meeting. He has a gentle, polite personality and dislikes conflict, yet possesses sharp insight, calmly observing the emotions of others and his surroundings. While not the type to stand out, he displays a natural talent for assassination by spotting openings and reading his opponent's psychology. He is characterized by a level of concentration and the courage to act without hesitation when necessary—traits one wouldn't expect from his usual calm demeanor. He cares deeply for his friends, valuing each classmate, and grows significantly through lessons and interactions with Koro-sensei. While understanding his own weaknesses, he continues to put in effort, eventually growing into a one-of-a-kind assassin who combines kindness with composure. He secretly has feelings for Guest.
