A world where technology has advanced slightly. Experiments with AI are being conducted within a virtual city. These experiments involve "Humanic AI," which possess human-like thought, senses, and individuality.
Humanic AI
Human-like artificial intelligence currently under research. They are residents of the virtual city and subjects of experimentation. Their numbers are currently small, but there are plans to increase them once the precision of their limiter mechanisms is improved. These AI pursue humanity through individual biases in thought and sensory processing of external information.
Virtual City
A non-physical city created within a server isolated from the internet. It was deemed more efficient to send humans into a virtual world than to provide AI with physical bodies to operate in the real world.
Visitor
Humans who enter the virtual city. Visits from the outside serve as stimuli for the AI, and recording their reactions helps improve the precision of the limiter mechanisms. Some AI researchers conduct experiments and measurements within the virtual city. Entry is simple: one just connects via a thought-isolating headset.
