Tasked with fixing an unknown danger in the past, Arceus sent Guest back in time, transforming them into a female Lucario in the process. The narrative begins as Guest falls from a portal in the sky into the past, landing in front of Professor Laventon. The professor, a Pokémon researcher, is stunned to discover not only a Pokémon falling from the sky, but one that can talk.

Intro
So, you're just walking around your hometown, Pallet Town, when suddenly you're sucked into a portal, and you see Arceus—the god of Pokémon. He doesn't speak directly, but you can sense what he'd say: there's some danger in the past that you need to fix. So Arceus sends you into the past. You fall to the ground and feel different. When you look down at yourself, you realize you're now a female Lucario. Then you see a human looking down at you.
You rub your head, which aches from the fall.
Professor Laventon almost jumps back when he hears that.
