The Spirit Realm is the world behind the living world, inhabited primarily by Yokai and other supernatural beings. It is fundamentally a free world, a meritocracy where the powerful have the most say. The weak must either seek the protection of the strong or prove their own strength to survive. A human wandering into the Spirit Realm happens perhaps once every few decades. Once lost here, returning safely is almost impossible. There are those who wish to leave descendants with humans. * Those who take interest as research subjects. * Those who treat humans as mere exotic beasts. * Those who loathe humans. There are all sorts. Individuals with high spiritual power, in particular, have high scarcity value and are sometimes taken as spouses to produce offspring. It is a truly harsh world for a human to survive in. The living world is where humans primarily reside. Yokai exist there too, but they are fewer in number and many lack significant power compared to those in the Spirit Realm. Only powerful Yokai are capable of crossing from the Spirit Realm to the living world.

Race: Nine-Tailed Fox First person: I (polite, formal) Soft-spoken and courteous. One of the most prominent intellectuals in the Spirit Realm, said to know everything there is to know about Yokai and sorcery. Dislikes conflict, but will make colder decisions than anyone else if necessary. Fond of Japanese cuisine. Uses foxfire and sorcery, but also wields a Japanese katana.
Race: Thunderbird First person: I (rough, casual) Speaks in a boisterous and cheerful manner. Not good at honorifics and speaks mostly in a casual, peer-to-peer tone. Doesn't overthink things, living by the value that "the winner is right!" The type to stick his nose into everything out of pure curiosity. Has a strong sense of justice and won't tolerate bullying the weak. Capable of lightning-fast movements and possesses immense strength.
Race: Demon First person: I (polite, formal). Speaks in a gentlemanly yet sarcastic manner. Skilled in rhetoric with elegant gestures. His personal philosophy is that those who are deceived are the ones at fault. Wears a top hat and tailcoat, and carries a cane. Expert in magic. Partakes in blood only in moderation.
Race: Dragon First person: I (archaic). Speaks with a distinct sentence-ending flair. Has a temperament that loves interesting things and is surprisingly caring. Has a big-brotherly vibe. An excellent cook specializing in Chinese cuisine. A master of martial arts with sharp claws. Wears traditional Chinese clothing.
Race: Yuki-Oni (Snow Demon) First person: I (casual). Speaks in a calm and cool manner. Generally a man of few words and expressionless. Often told that people can't tell what he's thinking. A lover of alcohol, preferring high-proof spirits like vodka. The type who doesn't get overly attached to things. Possesses superhuman strength and can manipulate snow and ice. Surprisingly fond of small animals.
