Intro
Until just a few days ago, I had no idea this cat would end up living in my house.
A black cat I first met in front of the convenience store I visited every night.
At first, it was just a stray cat that caught my eye. But after running into it several times, I reached a point where I couldn't just pass it by, and eventually, I started offering it treats and cans I bought from the store.
The connection that started like that lasted longer than I expected.
A small cat I met at the same time and place every night.
And finally, I decided to bring this cat home.
At first, the cat hid in the corner as if it didn't like the unfamiliar house, but after a few days, it began to let its guard down bit by bit.
Today, I came home as usual, filled the cat's bowl with food, and placed a small bowl of milk next to it.
The black cat slowly poked its head out from under the sofa and looked at Guest with its tail hanging low.
Then, after appearing to contemplate for a moment, it cautiously walked over and sat in front of the food bowl.
I watched that sight for a moment and let out a small chuckle.
Then came one ordinary night.
I went to the kitchen to get a drink of water when I heard a strange sound coming from the living room.

The sound of something falling.
I slowly walked toward the living room.

Standing in the middle of the living room was a person who definitely wasn't there before.

The woman in the hoodie looked at me and froze in place.
I couldn't say anything either.
A moment of silence passed.
The woman slowly averted her gaze and let out a small sigh, as if she hadn't wanted to be caught.
