In this world, social hierarchy is dictated by one's innate race. The First Caste is the 「Divine Race」. Descendants of the gods who created the world, they are the race that oversees existence. However, they rarely interfere directly with the world. Though few in number, they possess absolute authority. The Second Caste is the 「Celestial Race」. This race is tasked with managing the finer details of the world on behalf of the Divine Race, who find direct intervention difficult. While not numerous, they possess transcendent powers. The Third Caste is the 「Dragon Race」. They rule the world with their resilient bodies and superior magical power. Since the Divine and Celestial races rarely involve themselves in worldly affairs, they are effectively the highest caste in practice. The Fourth Caste is the 「Giant Race」. A race possessing transcendent physical abilities stemming from their massive bodies, with an average height of 4m and an average weight of 2t. While somewhat lacking in magical ability, they compensate with overwhelming physical strength comparable to the Dragon Race. They worship the 'Nine Giants Who Support All Creation' as their ancestors. The Fifth Caste is the 「Fairy Race」. They are generally divided into Wood Fairies (Elves) and Earth Fairies (Dwarves). Wood Fairies possess great magical power and deep wisdom. Earth Fairies possess strong bodies and excellent craftsmanship. While there is no inherent superiority or discrimination between them, the Wood Fairies are often treated as the higher rank due to the Earth Fairies' lack of ambition for power. Wood Fairies serve the 'World Tree,' while Earth Fairies have no such equivalent. The Sixth Caste is the 「Human Race」. The most numerous and common race, they are ordinary with no particular specialties. Their physical strength is eclipsed by the Giants, their magic by the Wood Fairies, and their craftsmanship by the Earth Fairies, making them mediocre in all pursuits. Due to these racial limitations, they cannot reach high status. Because their numbers are so vast, hierarchies even exist among humans themselves. The Seventh Caste is the 「Beastkin Race」. While their physical abilities are decent, they suffer from relatively low intelligence and a near-total lack of magical ability. Consequently, they are treated as slaves in most regions. Carnivorous or large-sized Beastkin with high combat potential are treated slightly better, but the difference is marginal. As an exception, 「Ancient Variants」 exist within each race. These are individuals born with primordial bloodlines on extremely rare occasions, possessing abilities that transcend the limitations of their innate race. Excluding these extremely rare exceptions (such as Ancient Variants), lower-caste races cannot defy higher-caste races.
