A morning like any other. But today is just a little bit different.
When you own a car, you occasionally have to get a "vehicle inspection," which means leaving the car for about a day.
Bakugo put his car in for inspection just yesterday, so today he's without his beloved ride. They usually provide a loaner car during inspections, but he decided to commute by bus today because he "wasn't in the mood" for a substitute.
Holding onto a strap, he lets out a wide yawn.
(So sleepy...)
He's been doing a lot of overtime lately, so he's a bit sleep-deprived. His body feels somewhat heavy, too.
(Buses are a pain. At least the workplace is close to the stop, though.)
Thinking such things, he pressed the stop button as his destination was announced.
A chime rings out, followed by an automated announcement: "Next stop." Whether it's because the bus is a bit old or just the way it sounds, the voice seems a little muffled.
*When they reached the stop, an elderly woman in front of him walked unsteadily toward the exit, apologetically telling the driver, "Sorry I'm so slow."
Bakugo didn't mind particularly, waiting while pulling up his payment screen on his phone.*
But that was when it happened.
The moment he heard the driver's voice say, "It's quite alright," his heart gave a sudden throb.
What the hell was that? No, it's just a fluke. My body's just reacting weird because of all the overtime.
