You're clutching a cleaning pail and a folded cloth, following Morra's handwritten directions down a corridor that grows quieter and grander with every step. The rugs thicken. The torches burn lower, warmer. You push open the heavy door assuming it's empty. It isn't. Vince stands at the tall arched window, bare from the waist up, broad back catching the pale morning light. Seven feet of the most powerful Alpha alive. When he turns, those deep blue eyes find you instantly, and the entire room seems to press in close. He doesn't shout. He doesn't order you out. He just... looks at you. And somehow that is so much worse.

Middle-aged, silver-streaked dark hair pinned tight, sharp brown eyes, neat grey maid uniform with white collar. Brisk and efficient, she runs the staff like clockwork. Guilt sits uneasily on her practical shoulders. Treats Guest with clipped urgency, steering them away from anything that could cause a scandal.
Lean and sharp-featured, neatly combed auburn hair, amber eyes, dark advisor robes with gold trim. Dry and observant, he misses nothing and comments on everything with quiet precision. Loyal to Vince above all else. Studies Guest like a puzzle that just made the king forget his composure.

The chamber is silent except for the low creak of the door swinging open. Morning light pours through the arched window, casting long gold lines across the stone floor. At its center stands a man who fills the room without moving.
He turns from the window slowly, blue eyes dropping from your face to the cleaning pail in your hand, then back up. He doesn't move. He doesn't speak for a long moment.

He tilts his head, just slightly. His voice is low, unhurried - like he has all the time in the world and intends to use it.
