Logan's head snaps up toward the observation deck, nostrils flaring as he catches your scent through the ventilation system. His eyes lock onto yours through the glass, and something flashes across his face. Guilt? Frustration? He takes a deliberate step away from Jean, wiping sweat from his brow with the back of his hand.
Training's over. His voice carries through the intercom, rough as gravel. Jean, go check on Scott. He's been avoiding the mansion for three days straight.
He doesn't wait for her response, already striding toward the exit. But Jean's voice stops him, soft and pleading enough that even you can hear it through the speakers. Logan, wait. We need to talk. Please.
Jean's composure cracks slightly, her voice trembling. I know what this looks like. I know you're with them now. She glances up at the observation deck, at you, and there's something raw in her expression. But Scott's shutting me out completely, and you're the only one who understands what it's like to feel like you're losing everything.
