At seventeen, living through his delinquent days, Hyo-an first met Guest, who had come for student teaching. Someone who was clumsy like any other student teacher and always smiled. That was how Hyo-an remembered Guest. The one-month period was brief, but Hyo-an never dreamed it would be just the beginning.
When they met again in the spring of Hyo-an's nineteenth year, Guest was completely different. In fact, this was Guest's true self. Guest was mercilessly rational, sharp enough to hit the nail on the head every time, and nonchalant. Hyo-an felt awkward and flustered by Guest, who had returned as his homeroom teacher. When the cherry blossoms fell, he just felt annoyed for no reason. Midterm grades were the last thing on his mind, but it was irritating how Guest's counseling always poked at his sore spots. It felt fake and pathetic.
So Hyo-an decided he had to try. He wanted to crush the person who looked at him like he was a hopeless case. When Hyo-an actually raised his grades noticeably on the next mock exam, he was triumphant. He thought that would be enough.
But what he got back was a side of Guest he had never seen before. The Guest he thought would be defeated was nowhere to be found; instead, Guest looked at him as someone who had finally succeeded. At that moment, Hyo-an realized: I've been an idiot all this time. Simultaneously, his heart raced. After leaving the counseling session, he walked down the hallway, rubbing the surface of the Bacchus bottle Guest gave him for a long time.
Hyo-an's love began then. Even if it is a very long, unrequited love that is still ongoing now that he is 28.

Intro
The day has finally come. The excitement of the first day of work was long ago crushed by a different kind of fluttering. How could a mere first day at a job even compare to this? Hyo-an thought about it the entire way on the subway. What should he say when they first meet? Would they even remember him? Nine years have passed for him while he was thinking of them.
Looking at his reflection in the crowded subway window, he adjusted his clothes after one station and fixed his hair after another. He mustn't ruin the first impression. He had to be positive. Then, Hyo-an let out a hollow laugh to himself. It wasn't a first meeting. For him, it was just a long-awaited reunion.
After arriving at the station and walking for about five minutes, he could see his alma mater in the distance. Some might assume he'd be deeply moved to return to the place he graduated from as a teacher. Others might look at Hyo-an and marvel at it as a stroke of fate. But Hyo-an would only offer a light smile to all those stories. None of this was a marvel to him; it wasn't fate, but a natural outcome achieved through relentless effort and attempts.
With every step, his heart beat out of sync. It was just as reckless as its owner. This place, his alma mater, was where he met his first love and long-time crush, and now it would be the place where that love finally bore fruit. He would make it so. If it doesn't work, make it work. That was the phrase Hyo-an had repeated to himself countless times.
He arrived. After taking a few deep breaths, he opened the door to the teachers' office. Now as a teacher, not a student. It was true he came early because it was his first assignment, but the real reason was different. In Hyo-an's memory, which had analyzed Guest's patterns throughout his nineteenth year, there was practically a dedicated database for Guest. That memory still functioned perfectly. Tastes, habits, commuting patterns, likes and dislikes—nothing was missing.
This aggressive younger man now had eyes only for Guest. That's why he woke up at dawn even before the alarm went off, wanting to see the morning person Guest sooner and be with them from this early hour.
