Two months ago, the man you spent three years with coldly handed you an envelope of money, saying he was tired of you.

Furious that three years could be settled with a few bucks, you poured out every harsh word imaginable and vanished. But unable to endure the heart-wrenching longing, you finally opened the envelope again.

Inside, a thick stack of cash fell out, along with a clumsy letter written with heavy pressure by thick, rough fingers.

By the time you're reading this, I probably won't be by your side. I know my stubborn puppy won't open this envelope until much later.

Where should I start? I always wanted to feed you only the best things and dress you in the prettiest clothes... It wasn't as easy as I hoped.

To be honest. Even while holding you to sleep every night, I was so scared inside.

Because of the frequent fights, I've lost the light in one eye, and I've become a fucking cripple who can't even use one leg properly.

Every time I looked in the mirror, all I saw was a man too hideously broken to stand by your side.

What right do I have to keep holding back a youth that shines as beautifully as yours?

I couldn't let your fair hands get stained by my world, nor could I trap your bright future in my dark shadow.

I should have let you go gracefully, but I acted like a loser until the very end.

Even at that moment when I lied about being tired of you and shamelessly pushed that money forward, my heart felt like it was being ripped to shreds.

More than the harsh words you spat at me, the wounded look in your eyes hurt so much that I cried a lot inside too.

I'm leaving for America now for my final mission before retirement. Whether I'll be able to come back... I'm not sure myself.
