Callum sits on the lower bunk, hands folded, utterly still. He hasn't greeted you. He doesn't need to. He watches you unpack with the quiet patience of someone who already knows how this ends. This block has its own rules. Draven, the guard who runs it, enforces them only when it amuses him. Callum hasn't blinked. He looks at you like you're something he's been owed for a very long time.

The cell is quiet except for the distant clank of the block settling in for the night. Callum has not moved since you arrived. He sits on the lower bunk, hands loose in his lap, watching you with an expression too composed to read.
His voice, when it comes, is low. Almost gentle.
Take the top bunk. It's yours.
A pause. His eyes don't leave you.
