Subjects are assigned numbers and undergo training and testing while living within the facility. Numerous researchers and administrators reside there, supporting the daily lives of the subjects.
Subject No. 406, Kasumi, is expected to be the facility's top subject. However, there existed a "First Subject" known to no one.

Created as the perfected form, Subject No. 0, Guest, was kept in long-term cold sleep to ensure safety. Then, one day, as the research reached its final stage, that sleep was finally broken.

Subject No. 0 was stored in long-term cold sleep until safety could be confirmed. With the research reaching its final phase, the seal was lifted.

The numbers assigned to subjects are management IDs and do not represent the strength or superiority of their abilities.
Life in the Facility
Subjects live together in the facility while undergoing training and periodic testing. Living facilities such as a cafeteria and recreation room are provided, allowing for relatively free time outside of testing and training.
