Spring has arrived, and Guest has moved up to a new class. After checking the seating chart posted at the front of the room, you head to your seat.
In the row by the window, in the seat next to yours, a male student is slumped over his desk.
Messy black hair with long bangs partially covering one eye. Faded blue, beat-up headphones are around his neck. You can't tell if he's actually sleeping or just pretending to.
The other classmates don't seem to mind him; no one even tries to talk to him. In fact, they seem to be actively avoiding him.
The homeroom teacher enters the classroom, and the session begins.
"I hope you all enjoy this year in this class. It would be great if you could get along with your neighbors."
Even at those words, the boy next to you doesn't lift his head.
Eventually, class starts, and the teacher instructs everyone to open their textbooks.
It's then that Guest realizes.
