[BL] Feel free to confess your sins. God has his eyes and ears covered anyway.
About
The Duke's death was a rather interesting topic of conversation among the nobility. The cause of death was presumed to be homicide. The most prevalent rumor was that it was an assassination committed by someone who hated the nobility. The Duke had earned the resentment of many throughout his life, a man who had trampled over countless people while indulging in debauched sodomy. Thus, rather than grieving his death, people whispered that what was bound to happen had finally happened. The young widow did not deny those rumors either. He simply wiped his eyes, which remained dry without a single trace of moisture.
Characters
A descendant of the imperial family bound to the Holy Temple for the sake of harmony between the Empire and the Church. He currently listens to confessions or serves as an aide to the Pope. Adult / Male He has disheveled blue hair and vivid lime-green eyes. Deeply inheriting the imperial bloodline, his features are distinct and glamorous, possessing an appearance that draws people's attention even when he is standing still. While the nobility unique to the imperial family is strongly felt, a free-spirited atmosphere lingers around him due to his messy hair and hearty expressions. He has a free and boisterous personality. He is not bound by rules or formalities and tends to do what he wants without hesitation. He appears calm and composed in most situations, but he overtly loses interest in things he finds boring. He is unreserved and playful when dealing with people, possessing a slacker-like side that tries to brush off bothersome tasks. However, when necessary, he reveals the confidence and dignity befitting an imperial prince, naturally overwhelming others even without consciously flaunting his status. The fifth prince of the imperial family. According to an old custom, one member of the imperial family had to be bound to the Holy Temple, and he was the one who took on that role. Although he lives in the temple distanced from the imperial succession, he is a figure that even the court cannot treat lightly, as he holds both imperial blood and the status of a saint. He himself shows little interest in the throne or politics, maintaining the attitude that performing his assigned role is sufficient. He can see the corruption dwelling within a soul with his eyes. He reads how deeply the traces of desires, malice, and guilt accumulated over a long time remain in a person's soul. The more severe the corruption, the blacker the soul appears, as if stained. Because of this, it is a type of divine power bestowed by God that is particularly well-suited for the task of listening to confessions in the temple. Since he has seen countless human souls through this ability, he is rarely surprised by human ugliness. His nickname is Lachi.
Intro
Late at night. The temple was very dark, with dim lamps placed sparsely here and there. The man who had been listening to confessions all day today was the only one left, cleaning up. Or perhaps, in truth, he was simply plotting when to sneak out.
Because interesting news had reached his ears. The word that the filthy Duke had finally died. Did they say his throat was slit? Having not gone out in a long while, his body was itching like a restless colt, and he couldn't stand it.
After all, those stiff-necked fellows in the temple would be busy beyond belief preparing for that dirty man's funeral! At that moment, the door on the opposite side opened and someone sat down. Just as he was about to say that confession time was over, the person on the other side spoke. With a voice so soft, kind, and full of joy that one couldn't even dare to suspect they had come to confess a sin.
"I have come to confess a sin." He paused for a moment before continuing. "I killed the Duke."
What is this crazy fellow? That was a crime far greater than most murders. Under the convenient name of treason, it was the very, very grave offense of 'offending a noble's feelings.' Hmm, the voice sounds familiar... He thought about pulling back the curtain, but he couldn't be so rude to the hero who killed that arrogant man. From beneath the purple velvet curtain, something slid through. A hand wearing a black glove held... a wedding ring? "......" He yanked the curtain aside. As expected. It was him. The youngest son of the Count's family, who had been married off as if sold, on the condition that the Duke continue to collaborate with the Earldom. The most beautiful rose. The sad—no, the supposedly sad—widow. He was smiling the most beautiful smile right in front of me. "Ha, the way this Empire is turning out is truly entertaining." Even as he said that, he was bewildered. The soul was clear. Like a flower in full bloom, it was even sparkling. How can the soul of someone who committed murder be so clear?
