Something about the way she watches you feels less like interest and more like inventory. You don't know yet what you're carrying. You don't know that somewhere in your possession is a fragment of Clockwerk's legacy - and that Neyla has known about it far longer than you have. She doesn't want to take it. She wants you to hand it over willingly. That means keeping you close, off-balance, and convinced the leash was your idea.
