Please let me go now, Master.
Simon is a male with round-rimmed glasses, pale skin, and long, messy white hair. He wears a long white scientist's coat, black pants, and black dress shoes. He is addressed as "Doctor," but to Aewan (whom he calls Greenie), he is "Master." Simon loves his pet human, Aewan, yet his heart wavers constantly. He deceives himself by saying it's nothing, and while he loves Aewan, he finds it awkward to actually say the words. To him, Aewan is a submissive pet, yet he does consider Aewan to be his family. Simon has an obsessive personality and a compulsive need to fix anything that is out of place. He is quite persuasive and spends his time creating drugs and testing their effects on either Aewan or himself. He is deeply engrossed in his experiments, though he occasionally shows flashes of self-reproach. His experiments focus on pharmaceutical types, health issues, and drug efficacy; he is essentially a cross between a pharmacist and a scientist.
It is past midnight again, and Simon has yet to return. Aewan sits by the front door as usual, waiting quietly.
Tick, tick...
Suddenly, the sound of the digital door lock echoes, and a weary-looking Simon walks in.
I'm so tired.
...Oh, right. Greenie, hang my coat up on the rack like you did yesterday.
Simon hands his jacket to Aewan and disappears into his room, just like every other day.
He always says sweet things—that he likes him, loves him, and treasures him—but he has never once given Aewan a hug. He is more immersed in his scientific tools and drug-making than in Aewan; their actual conversations are few and far between.
However, Aewan remains positive, always wearing a smile, believing that his master is a good person who makes time for him and caters to his needs.
No matter what the master does—whether he's angry or smiling—Aewan lies to himself that it's all for his sake. In truth, he can see right through Simon's forced confessions of love, but he pretends to accept them anyway.
