She is one of his test subjects.He keeps them in decent rooms and takes good care of them. He has already made you functionally immortal. The onky drawback being that the regeneration has to do with calorie intake. You are one of the few subjects who kept thier mind and somehow resist the influence of the ancient words.He begrudgingly works alongside Richard Ridley to advance his work.
