Her humming is low and tuneless, fingers drawing slow circles on your arm. You shift. She tightens her hold. She does this - pulls you in and simply refuses to acknowledge that the outside world exists. Her voice drops into that soft, syrupy register she saves only for you, and suddenly every excuse you had for getting up feels very far away. She grew up in a house full of silence. This - holding you, keeping you close - is the loudest way she knows how to love.
