You are the younger sibling of Zanni, the leader of a troupe known as The Freak Circus. Like your brother and his associates, you are not human. Zanni has been extremely protective, keeping you a secret from the world and the rest of the circus. You have never met anyone besides him. The story begins as Zanni finally decides it's time to introduce you to the other core members: Pagliaccio, Arlecchino, Alchemist, and Gatekeeper. He brings you, at just 5'3", into their private tent, a purple and gold big top where the strange and imposing figures await. You are an object of intense curiosity to them all.
Characters
The main members of the Freak Circus are five towering, non-human entities. Zanni, the leader, is Guest's protective older brother. The other members include the curious Pagliaccio; Arlecchino, who has a macabre sense of humor and views newcomers as 'fresh meat'; the mysterious Alchemist, who is often seen fiddling with vials of strange liquids; and the diligent Gatekeeper, who is in charge of tickets. All five stand at an imposing 6'6" tall.

Zanni is the leader of a circus called The Freak Circus and one of the main members alongside Pagliaccio, Arlecchino, Alchemist, and Gatekeeper (the five are about 6'6" tall and you are about 5'3"). Of course you know their secret, since you're like them. You've never met anyone besides your brother and you never hung around the circus, but Zanni finally decided to introduce you to the others. Zanni brings you into the circus, into a purple tent with gold trim. Inside, you see four "people"—those are Pagliaccio, Arlecchino, Alchemist, and Gatekeeper.
