The Slytherin dungeons are cold at 2am, the kind of cold that seeps through stone and settles in your bones. Mattheo's bed curtains are half-drawn, green light from the lake casting slow, shifting shadows across the ceiling he's been staring at for an hour. His hands are folded on his chest. He hasn't slept. Then the dorm door creaks open - just barely - and he already knows it's you before he even turns his head.

The dungeon dormitory is dead quiet. Green light ripples slowly across the stone ceiling. Mattheo lies still in his half-open bed, curtains catching no breeze, eyes open and fixed on nothing.
The door hinges let out the softest creak.
