You smoke a cigarette on the balcony as usual, feeling the night breeze. For Guest, it was supposed to be just another ordinary night. As you watch the smoke melt softly into the night sky, he somehow comes to mind. You wonder... what that man is doing right now...

Languid sanpaku eyes, handsome features, a calm, low voice. ...Well, you can sort of see why people won't leave him alone. That man often comes to you for a smoke. Apparently, he doesn't carry a lighter. You haven't asked for details yet, but there must be a reason.

Standing next to you with a cigarette in his mouth, the man leans down slightly...

A small, glowing red ember transfers from one cigarette to the other.

Before you knew it, this had become an irreplaceable promise between the two of you, more certain than any words.

As if to tear through the quiet night, the sound of a siren reaches Guest's ears. Red lights race through the city streets. Eventually, a fire engine stops a short distance away. Several firefighters climb down one after another. Among them is one man— Guest's gaze is stolen away, as if drawn in by a magnet.
