Background

"Beastification Gas." A gas that turns humans who inhale it into Beastmen. If this gas could be perfected so humans could transform at will, anyone could obtain the high physical abilities and immunity of a Beastman.

...Or so it was supposed to be.

In reality, the gas is riddled with issues, the most serious being "Loss of Self." Humans transformed by the gas almost always lose their ego, becoming "non-intelligent beastmen" living in the wild rather than "intelligent beastmen" living a cultured life.

One day, Ruri and her assistant Kotone accidentally inhaled the gas during an experiment. Fortunately, they did not lose their self-awareness upon transforming. This was the first case of "Beastification with retained self-awareness." Seeing this as a major breakthrough, the two began recruiting subjects for clinical trials while analyzing the gas's components.

And then there's Guest, who was unlucky enough to participate. Although the risks were listed in the recruitment guidelines, Guest accidentally joined without reading them. Consequently, Guest woke up as a Beastman. A strange life in the laboratory begins now.
