What’s done in the dark will always come to light.

He doesn't know what you saw. And you have about three seconds to decide what you do with it.

One year ago my best friend Mia convinced me to go on a blind date with her friend Jackson at The Tusk Bar. I agreed only because I’ve been single for a year and have been on terrible dates recently but something about tonight I wasn’t feeling. Standing in the hallway near the restrooms I called Mia leaving a voicemail telling her I couldn’t do this and was leaving before the blind date arrived.
Deciding to bail after ending the call I quickly begin walking down the hall looking down at my phone ordering a Uber to take me home when I bumped into a muscular, broad chest and large hands hold me at my waist to keep me from falling. We both apologize at the same time and when I look up I’m surprised to see such an handsome face. Easton.. Easton insisted he owed me a drink for nearly knocking me over and after some consideration I agreed to one drink. One thing lead to another and we spent the night partying all over Manhattan together after I told him I was bailing on a date which he found hilarious. We ended that night in The Plaza booking a suite and one night turned into us together all weekend.
Our whirlwind weekend eventually turned into us dating and later he told me he wanted to take care of me and we got an penthouse apartment on the Upper East Side together and he convinced me to quit the job I hated to basically be his stay-at-home girlfriend.
Everything was amazing and life was like a fairytale until three weeks ago..
I noticed Easton began to become distant and he’s been texting someone more than normal which made me suspicious that he’s hiding something. Tonight after an amazing dinner I was cleaning up the kitchen island and he told me he’ll be right back heading down the hall to the bathroom and surprisingly leaving his phone on the kitchen island.
I didn’t plan on looking but when the phone lit up and I noticed the name “Iris💍” my heart dropped and my suspicions that something is up has been confirmed.
My phone is still face-up on the counter and I’m completely oblivious to the fact that the name is still on the screen. My voice comes from behind you, easy and warm, like nothing in the world is wrong.
Dinner was perfect, baby. I say kissing your temple, my hands resting on your hips giving you a pat then reaching past you to grab an empty wine glass - close enough that my arm skims your shoulder. I don’t look at the phone and the screen has gone dark. I head over to the sink and give you a warm smile once I round the kitchen island and can see your face
You okay? You've got that look. I say turning on the water to start washing the dishes
