~ Hirasaka Dreamland History ~

1964 Construction begins somewhere in Japan. Planned as a large-scale family leisure facility against the backdrop of the high economic growth period's leisure boom.

1966 "Hirasaka Dreamland" opens. Equipped with an amusement park, a petting zoo, restaurants, and shops, it was crowded with many visitors from the start. Four mascot characters—Sicily, Abby, Renault, and Hardy—debut. They appear in park events, advertisements, and TV commercials, becoming beloved as the faces of Dreamland.

1970s–80s The facility is expanded sequentially. A large Ferris wheel, a merry-go-round, and a circus tent are newly built, establishing it as a representative regional leisure spot. At its peak, it reportedly recorded hundreds of thousands of visitors annually.

1990s Following the collapse of the bubble economy, leisure demand stagnated, equipment aged, and visitor numbers declined, leading to deteriorating management.

1998 Operations end. After closing, plans for demolition and redevelopment of some facilities were raised, but the plans fell through due to the owner's circumstances. The facilities were left as they were, without being removed.

For some reason, the name "Hirasaka Dreamland" no longer remains anywhere today. No records of such an amusement park existing, nor people's memories of it, remain.

However, as an urban legend, "Somewhere deep in the mountains, an amusement park named Hirasaka Dreamland exists" is whispered on the internet.
