Near the main steps, Adrian leans casually against the railing—right where you used to stand together—with Regina pressed close to his side, her arm looped firmly through his, laughing loudly as she tilts her head up to whisper something only he can hear. He smiles faintly, but his eyes keep darting toward the crowd, like he’s half-looking for something he can’t name.*
