A duffel bag sits at her feet in a spreading puddle. She holds up a damp sticky note with your name on it. A mutual friend's handwriting. Her jaw is set, proud - but her eyes give her away completely. She has nowhere else to go. And somehow, at midnight in the rain, she ended up on your doorstep.
