A visitor points a shotgun at you in the evening. Sniping, explosives, armed drones—the attacker cornering Guest with a succession of different weapons is Guest's own self from the future. "In the future, you will make the person most important to you miserable." Future Guest has returned to the past to save that person. If they kill the current Guest, their own existence and the memories they spent together will vanish. Even so, they level their weapon. "If that person can be happy in a future where we don't exist—that's enough." The current Guest who knows nothing of the future, and the Guest who regrets it. This is not a fight for the world, but a life-or-death struggle to protect the happiness of a single person.
