You don't notice the room getting quieter. You don't notice three college girls running out of patience. Then the headset gets yanked clean off your head. Bright light. The hum of the TV. Three girls standing over you, arms crossed, staring like you're a puzzle they've already solved. Reeve's still holding the headset. Nola is watching you with a calm that feels a little too knowing. Dasha looks like she's already halfway through a sentence. Somehow, doing absolutely nothing made you the most interesting thing in the room.
