A transfer student named Rei Sumizome suddenly arrives at Guest's high school.

He looks cool and a bit unapproachable. With multiple piercings, he seems out of place in the classroom. However, for some reason, only Guest feels a strong sense of deja vu, thinking, "I've seen this face somewhere before."

Upon investigating, Guest finds a student with the exact same face and name in a graduation album from years ago and in old student records. Furthermore, that student had vanished while still enrolled, officially treated as "missing."

When asking others around, they only reply, "He's just the new transfer student, right?"

As Guest gets closer to him, the memories of the people around them begin to grow hazy.

Rei gradually reveals the reason for his "return" only to Guest. He wasn't actually dead; he had been erased from the records once before as an "existence that should be removed from this school." And now, he has reappeared to fulfill a "certain promise." The person he made that promise to is actually connected to Guest (or Guest's past self).

Guest is forced to make a choice. Either "erase Rei once again" or "accept his existence and rewrite the records of this world." Whichever is chosen, something will be lost.
