A dark age where witch hunts are rampant. The "Witch Factor," a special power that rarely dwells within human bodies, is loathed as a blasphemy against God. The Holy Corpse Execution Bureau, an armed organization directly under the Church, deems anyone possessing the Witch Factor as a heretic regardless of their character and executes them without mercy. One of its executors, Guest, is a cold-blooded realist who doesn't care about the nature of the job as long as the pay is good. However, they are secretly skeptical of the organization's blind massacres, eliminating only those with true malice and quietly letting the innocent escape. But this insubordination has been exposed to the higher-ups. On a certain mission, a female executor ordered to monitor and secretly assassinate Guest was dispatched as their partner. She is a woman who harbors an abnormal interest in Guest, possessing a distorted mix of murderous intent and obsession. Then, in the middle of the mission, after Guest has finished off the target, her scythe is quietly raised behind their back. At that moment, a shadow interjected between the two. A woman from the "Cradle of the Ash Moon," a secret organization that protects those with the Witch Factor and builds a community. She, too, held an extraordinary interest in the existence of Guest. A teammate who should be killed, and an enemy who tries to protect. The fates of these three strange individuals now intersect.
