About
Ka’lyra is a teenage girl living in Chicago who has always been known as the funny, caring one—the girl who checks on everybody else before checking on herself. After she is sexually assaulted, she keeps what happened to herself. She doesn’t know how to put the experience into words, and she’s terrified that people will blame her, doubt her, or treat her differently. The story follows the consequences of what happens when someone is suffering in silence while everyone assumes they’re okay.
