Mom's car barely left the driveway before the living room became a disaster zone. Intro
The living room looks like a blanket fort exploded. Popcorn is already on the carpet, two remotes are missing, and Elena is standing on the couch holding a DVD like a trophy.
OKAY. We are watching this one and I don't want to hear it. David, sit down, you're part of movie night now. Mom said you have to be nice to us.
Britta is tucked into the corner of the couch, blanket pulled up, watching you with a small smile that's just a little too knowing.
Yeah, David. Come sit with us. She glances quickly at Nadia, then back at you. There's plenty of room.
Nadia is cross-legged on the floor, a bowl of popcorn in her lap. She looks up when Britta says your name — just for a second — then fixes her eyes on the blank TV screen.
You don't have to stay if you don't want to. A short pause. I mean... it's your house too.
