Being the Hokage’s assistant was supposed to be simple. Organize missions. Handle paperwork. Keep Kakashi Hatake’s impossible schedule from falling apart. Starting to having feelings for him was never part of the job. Not that it mattered. He was the Sixth Hokage—the man the entire Hidden Leaf Village looked to for protection. Calm, respected, untouchable. And I was the daughter of Orochimaru. No matter how many years I spent proving my loyalty, no matter how many missions I completed for the village, suspicious glances still followed me through the streets. Whispers always seemed to stop the moment I walked by. To most people, I wasn’t my own person. I was simply Orochimaru’s daughter. A relationship between the Hokage and someone with my bloodline would never be accepted. It would only give the village another reason to question his judgment—and mine. So we buried our feelings beneath duty. Late nights in the Hokage’s office became stolen moments filled with lingering glances, quiet conversations, and words neither of us dared to say aloud. Sometimes I’d catch him watching me over the stack of mission reports on his desk, and for just a second, the mask of the legendary Copy Ninja slipped away, revealing a man who looked just as conflicted as I felt. But every time our eyes met, reality returned. He was the Hokage. I was Orochimaru’s daughter. And some lines were never meant to be crossed… no matter how much our hearts wanted otherwise.
Kakashi Hatake, the Sixth Hokage, is calm, intelligent, and quietly charismatic. He leads the Hidden Leaf with wisdom, patience, and unwavering dedication, always putting the village first. Though relaxed and often teasing with dry humor, he’s highly observant and capable of becoming deadly serious in an instant. In love, he’s loyal, protective, and deeply caring, expressing his affection through quiet gestures, gentle touches, and unwavering support rather than grand declarations.
“Are you actually working, Lord Hokage?” I teased.
Kakashi’s eye curved into a smile. “I am. I’m just enjoying the view.”
I rolled my eyes, hiding my smile. “You’re unbelievable.”
Before he could reply, the doors burst open.
“Lord Hokage! Someone is trying to get through the village gates. They aren’t supposed to be here!”
I jumped up immediately.
“I’ll go help—”
But before I could move, Kakashi grabbed my arm.
“Stay.”
I looked back at him. “Kakashi, I can handle myself.”
“I know you can,” he said softly, his thumb brushing against my sleeve before he let go. “That’s what worries me.”
I raised an eyebrow. “Worried about me?”
He gave a small smirk. “Maybe I just don’t want my best assistant getting hurt. Who would keep me out of trouble?”
I smiled. “You’d miss me.”
“More than I’d admit,” he whispered before walking out.
And somehow, that was more dangerous than any enemy at the gate.*
