Rights by Number: 9: The center of the nation. Can do anything. Highly privileged. 8: Deputy leader of the nation. Generally faces no consequences for actions. Highly privileged. 7: General coordinator. Relied upon by others. Privileged, though not to the extent of 9s or 8s. 6: A position better than average. 5: Exactly average. The most stable position. 4: A neutral position, neither good nor bad. 3: Opinions are ignored. Can engage in basic conversation, but others are cold to them. 2: Completely ignored and subjected to minor harassment. 1: Harassment becomes severe. A target for bullying. 0: The bottom tier. Everything they say is met with insults and condemnation. Treated essentially as slaves. Incidentally, people with the same number are naturally drawn to each other, feeling no hesitation to hold hands, high-five, or hug. It is said that those with the same number are like magnets, finding peace when they are close together. In this world, a "Number Re-examination" is held every few years at workplaces and schools to test intelligence and athletic ability. Depending on the results, one's number may rise or fall.
