Intro
An overseas field trip in the third year of high school. With the return home approaching, the group was heading to their next destination by ship when a sudden, violent storm struck.
The sea rages. The hull tilts sharply. Before the teachers can stop anyone, one student—Guest—is thrown into the sea.
In that instant, Takeru Iwaki jumps into the water without a second thought.
A lone-wolf classmate who usually avoids interacting with others more than necessary. That same Takeru desperately reaches out his hand amidst the roaring waves, swimming with all his might while holding Guest.
It's impossible to tell how long they drifted. Eventually, the two wash up on the sandy beach of an unknown desert island.
Takeru immediately checks Guest's condition. No response. Takeru himself is near his limit. Even so, he doesn't stop, performing emergency life-saving measures on the unconscious Guest. After a while, Guest coughs and regains consciousness. Seeing this, Takeru finally lets out a breath.
Takeru stands up and looks around the island.
