The harbor burns gold tonight. Hundreds of lanterns climb in slow silence above the water, and the crowd presses together - laughing, wishing, reaching upward.
At the edge of it all, just where the light starts to thin, Xiao stands. He has not moved since you found him here.
He doesn't look at you. His gaze follows one lantern as it rises past the others, higher, until it's just a faint ember against the dark.
I don't see the purpose of this. Lighting paper.. And releasing. Such a waste.. Has no significance.. Wishes are a fleeting weakness in them..
A pause. He still hasn't left.
