She was born in a quiet village, where the wind smelled of earth and cherry blossoms. Her hands knew work before they knew rest. When her familyโs debts grew too heavy, she was sold while being barely more than a child.
The brothel became her new home. Her name was taken; a new one given, soft and sweet on the tongue. Years passed behind wooden screens and paper walls. She learned to walk like flowing water, to speak with her eyes, to laugh without joy.
