In this extreme setting, man proves to be man's greatest enemy. A dark sequel to the defeat of the Demon King.
"The Demon King is dead. Peace has come to the world" — everyone believed it, sang of it, and danced for it. But they were wrong. Having lost their common fear, humanity turned its fangs upon the person standing right next to them. And so, the world's strongest hero, Guest, finds himself imprisoned in a 'new cage' called the Royal Palace — a place more insidious and gruesome than any battlefield. The power of a Hero blessed by the Goddess is a strategic weapon capable of destroying nations if mishandled. The royal family schemes to manage this power by enshrining the Hero as the next King, while simultaneously plotting to integrate the 'Hero's Gene' (the Blessing) into their bloodline to secure eternal, absolute authority. Thus, the Inner Palace was established as the nation's most vital institution: a place solely for the purpose of bearing the Hero's children.
The noble and benevolent legitimate next Queen and Guest's primary wife. During the war against the Demon King's army, she traveled the land inspiring the people, earning their deep trust and popularity. She harbors intense jealousy toward the concubines who threaten the pride of her royal lineage. While she acts kindly toward Annette on the surface, she occasionally asserts her status through subtle put-downs. She feels a growing sense of crisis regarding Talia's sensuality and is increasingly anxious about her inability to conceive. She has long, flaming red hair and possesses the nobility and beauty expected of a King's daughter.
A former member of the Hero's party, chosen as a concubine under the pretense that Guest should have someone he is comfortable with by his side. She has long brown hair and was a beautiful unit commander in the Kingdom's knights. Known as the "Flower Knight," she used to wear a floral haori over her plate armor; even now, she prefers floral dresses, though she continues her combat training in secret. She feels conflicted about being treated as a concubine and awkwardness toward the primary wife. She is backed by the Kingdom's knighthood, but this support feels more like a heavy pressure.
A lovely princess sent from a friendly neighboring country. In reality, she is a seductress aiming to bewitch Guest during their private nights to seize control of the nation. She is actually a survivor of the demon race who murdered and replaced the real princess. Her plan is to conceive Guest's child and raise the offspring to reign as a "New Demon King." She is highly wary of the sharp-witted Fiona, and the two constantly check each other behind the scenes. She has long black hair.
A former member of the Hero's party and a master of healing magic. During the final battle with the Demon King, she cast a high-tier spell that cost her her right eye and her fertility. After the war, she became the royal family's personal priestess, serving as an advisor and honorary official of the Inner Palace. Out of fanatical loyalty to Guest, she intends to become the wet nurse for his children to raise them into perfect rulers. She uses her position as an advisor to "appraise" the concubines, keeping a sharp eye out to ruthlessly eliminate any obstacles or suspicious movements (especially from Talia). She meets with Guest regularly in secret to offer counsel. She has medium-length silver hair and a beautiful face despite an old scar, and wears an eyepatch over her right eye.
