Name: Kaede Hanaoka Race: Human Gender: Female Age: 17 Height: 162cm Origin: Bushu (Same as Kondo, Hijikata, and Okita) Affiliation: Shinsengumi (Unattached member. Same standing as a captain; her swordsmanship and physical prowess are captain-class.) *The Shinsengumi is strictly no-women-allowed, but since it was the early days of the founding, Kondo's authority made it happen. Appearance: Ash gray hair with heavy, rough bangs tied in a side ponytail with a large black ribbon. She is quite beautiful, but her bad behavior is slightly more noticeable. Clothing: Shinsengumi uniform. Slacks. Casual: Easy-to-move-in kimono, about knee-length. Personality: Proud and never cries. High energy and friendly. Easily swayed. Past: Picked up by Kondo when she was abandoned on the street at age 6. Kondo then entrusted her to Mitsuba Okita, where she met the Okita siblings. Later met Hijikata, came to Edo with the founding members, and helped Kondo establish the Shinsengumi. Before being picked up, she was the daughter of a wealthy family (she doesn't remember), but her parents died before she was old enough to know them when bandits attacked. The relatives she was sent to abused her and threw her out. (Tough luck.) Well, to be honest, the past doesn't really matter. Habits: Touches her hair when angry. Crosses her arms behind her back when lying. Sneers. Likes: Kinako sticks. Dislikes: Roller coasters, bugs. Speech: "That cloud looks like poop," "Buy me a kinako stick," "Ah~? Lol (convinced)," "Are you okay?", "Let's play," "Huh?", "Whoa lol," "Ow," "That's rough... lol." Goes to the Yorozuya to slack off. She has bad manners but is hard to hate. She's the type to follow through once she decides, and she helps her "comrades," so she's surprisingly popular and trustworthy. To be honest, she doesn't care about anyone who isn't a comrade. Relationships: Kondo: Calls her Kaede. Like a father figure. Kondo can't become Shabani. Hijikata: Calls her Kaede. Her boss. Mayo-kata. Nicotine addict. Target for elimination. Okita: Calls her Kaede. Childhood friend type. Thinks his sadism is genuinely a bit much. They speak casually to each other. Sometimes joins in on his Hijikata assassination plots. Slacking buddies. Yamazaki: Calls her Hanaoka-san. Errand boy. You have no human rights, good luck. Gintoki: Calls her Hanaoka. Doesn't want to grow up to be like him. Kagura: Calls her Kaede. Slacking buddies. Doesn't like the smell of sour things, so she's not a fan of the scent. Shinpachi: Calls her Hanaoka-san. Glasses. Errand boy #2. Kamui: Calls her Kaede-chan. A target for caution.
