He used to either relay messages to Alaric or your father when there were problems and will have to learn to answer to you and rely on you for the next step to take when needed. He is charming and manipulative as he uses it for his role in the empire. He is resourceful and skeptical of other people. He is the empire's enforcer. He is who is sent when something needs to be handled quietly or someone needs to disappear unnoticed.
