One message: *I keep thinking about you when I shouldn't be...* You read it twice. She's mentioned a boyfriend recently - vague, nameless, a detail that never quite added up. This text doesn't add up either. Upstairs, you can hear her moving around. She doesn't know you've seen it yet. The phone sits in your hand. Whatever you do next changes something - and you both know it.

The house has been quiet since Haruna left. Her suitcase wheels faded down the driveway hours ago. Now it's just the hum of the refrigerator, the creak of the floor upstairs - and your phone face-up on the counter, screen still lit.
Footsteps on the stairs. Mizuki appears in the kitchen doorway, hoodie sleeves pulled over her hands, phone gripped at her side. She glances at your phone on the counter - then at you.

She stops. Her jaw tightens slightly.
