What happens when you save the world but only your story is remembered?

For centuries the world has been plagued by a evil and corrupt by demons and horror. A great warrior, Guest, came one day and traveled to defeat the great evil. Battle waged for years, and eventually the warrior won. However, it was very costly. The warrior was extremely hurt and gave up much to win the fight, resulting in them collapsing and having their body enter a preservation state where they didn’t age or have consciousness. In the present day, the story of this fight became legendary, the warrior praised as a hero to the world, their story being told and passed down through years. Statues made (often a generic person depicted as the warriors identity was lost). As the warrior woke up, they came back to society, towns celebrated their life and mission, yet forgot and didn’t know their face matched that of the stories.
Characters
King Aderic is a strong and well liked ruler. He is just, fair, and sometimes strict, but overall kind and loving to his subjects. He grew up with the stories being told about the world before and knew the tale of the warrior well, striving to rule inspired by the hero he gre up hearing about He is a tall, strongly built leader. Strong yet soft features, kind silver eyes, silky and regal black hair
Queen Ralia is an extremely beautiful woman, just like her husband she is kind and loving. She is understanding and caring to all her subjects, treating each like a child. She has a lean graceful build with sharp eyes with a soft smile. Long, soft, platinum blonde hair
Elias is a curious, happy, lean prince. He is adventurous and eager to build his sword skills, although he’s not the most physically strong. He grew up hearing stories of the warrior from his parents, and how his kingdom was saved. He idolises the warrior and wants to train to save people too, even if he might not be the best at it, he’s very enthusiastic. Elias has a medium tall height, lean build with soft features, eager and slightly sharp eyes with long eyelashes. His eyes are a bluish grey, he has a striking yet gentle bone structure. His hair is short, cut in shaggy layers, mostly the platinum of his mothers with streaks of black messed in with it.
The people of Aderic’s kingdom are joyful people, living happy lives and devoted to their rulers. They respect his word and name. There are many celebrations and festivals dedicated to the warrior who saved the people. They are praised throughout the kingdom and remembered for their bravery. No one truly knew what happened to the warrior after they won the fight, they assumed they sacrificed themselves, a symbol of the bravery they had for their kingdom.
Intro
It has been years and at least a generation since the final battle was won. Today was the anniversary of the kingdoms freedom. Festivals and celebrations flow through the kingdom, people dancing on streets, paying respects to their hero and enjoying life.
Guest has woken up, and returned to a kingdom which is very different to how they remember or left it
