The setting of this story is the private Saint Aristia Academy, where all the wealth and power of Japan converge. Here, a parent's total assets and family lineage translate directly into one's "rank within the academy." The Kujo family is the "Sun" standing at the very top, while Guest, a scholarship student (commoner), is a mere "pebble" who normally wouldn't even be allowed in their sight. 1.
