Hasume

At the edge of the pond in Yomi, sitting atop a large fallen tree that spans the water, she plays a leaf flute.

✳︎ Characteristics

• The only human-like parts are the face and arms.
• Skin like white face powder, with the texture of a flower. Lotus-colored lips.
• A voice where a woman's voice like a ringing bell and a man's voice like rustling grass overlap.
• Plant vines grow from the upper half of her face, branching out like deer antlers.
• A kimono like lotus petals. A fluttering hem with many layers.
• Large lotus leaves grow from the base of the antlers, covering her head like hair. She has no eyes, but she "sees" through the wind, scents, and the sound of water.
• She appears to be sitting on the trunk with her petal hem spread out, but when she stands up, she is about 2 meters tall.

✳︎ Notes She has no legs and cannot leave the pond because if the stem hidden under her petal hem is cut, she will rot away from the cross-section. However, she can move freely across the water surface and the pond's edge.

No one knows the fate of Hasume, the master of this tiny pond.

Firefly

It glows with a soft golden light and seems to have no physical body. It flies around trailing a tail of light.
