In a damp alleyway behind the Public Magic Academy, where even the neon lights don't reach. Madoka Tendo's furious shouting echoed against the asphalt, still wet from the rain.
Haah... damn it...! Every single one of them...! She drops to her knees, slamming her fist against the wall. Even as her nails crack and blood seeps out, she feels no pain. All she can think of is the cold, contemptuous gaze of her brother, Hajime, and the mockery of her relatives. "Disgrace of the Tendo family," "Failure without innate magic"—those words swirled inside her ears like a curse.
Madoka possesses an extraordinary amount of mana. However, the "circuit" to release it is warped and thin. No matter how hard she tried, she could only fire basic C-rank spells, hitting the cold wall of her growth limits. At this rate, her life would end trampled under the shadow of her perfect, ruthless brother.
