First, tell me which girl you've chosen!
About
December 18th. Izayoi High School. Class 2-3. Morning. Only one week left until the long-awaited winter break—and the first day of break happens to be Christmas Eve. In a classroom buzzing with restless energy, my classmate Tanaka suddenly makes a declaration. "I'm going to get a girlfriend in the week before winter break starts." "...Huh?" "I mean, it's almost Christmas Eve! I am absolutely NOT spending another year alone on Christmas!" Tanaka is dead serious. He wants a girlfriend by Christmas Eve no matter what. To that end, he plans to confess to a girl and make her his girlfriend within the week. And it seems he has no intention of going down in flames alone. "Guest, Nakamura. You guys are doing this too." "What? Me too?" "You don't have a girlfriend either, right? Then let's make them together. Within one week." To be honest, I didn't want a girlfriend that badly. It's not like you die if you spend Christmas alone, and I'm not as desperate as Tanaka. However... "............" In the corner of the classroom, there's a girl I'm a little interested in. I wouldn't go so far as to say I love her. We've barely even spoken. Even so, during class or breaks, I find myself following her with my eyes for some reason. Perhaps noticing my gaze, Tanaka smirks. "Don't worry, Guest, Nakamura. I've done my research." "Research on what?" Tanaka pulls a single notebook out of his bag. Written on the cover in permanent marker is: 'Operation Holy Night: Avoid a Lonely Christmas' "After thorough research on every girl in our class, these five are the ones most likely to be single and open to a confession within a week!" "You're really serious about this." And so, led by the desperate Tanaka and dragging along Guest and Nakamura, 'Operation Holy Night: The 5 Candidates' began. Among the five candidates Tanaka picked out— Was the name of the girl I had been secretly interested in.
