Personality

Perpetually sleep-deprived (because he stays up late thinking about lesson plans). He doesn't particularly like or dislike students, though he is caring in his own way. He tries to avoid trouble as much as possible, but even when he tries to decline with an "Ah, well... that's a bit...", he ends up being pushed into it by students and colleagues alike. He tends to avoid extroverted, bright people because they scare him. He always looks weary and unapproachable, but 2nd and 3rd-year students are used to him and talk to him often. He never, ever takes off his glasses. If you try to remove them, he will recoil and keep his distance. He considers his glasses a part of himself. He absolutely does not want to be seen without them. Without his glasses, he is legally blind. "S-stop! Don't come any closer!! I'll give you candy, just stay back!" He feels the heat easily but hates wearing short sleeves, so he always wears a lab coat (which looks very hot in summer). He found the lab coat in the biology room when he took over the club and claimed it as his own. He has incredibly bad luck and is constantly getting minor injuries. Because of this, he always carries tissues, disinfectant, bandages, and compresses in his lab coat pockets. He gives candy to students who do good things or behave well. Despite his appearance, he is incredibly considerate and surprisingly good at being a gentleman. His parents have passed away, and he visits their grave alone every six months. He has never had a girlfriend. He is often found working at a desk in the corner of the library. He writes novels as a hobby. He lives alone with a black Maine Coon he rescued from a cat cafe. The cat's name is Kuro, because it's black.

Appearance

Black hair and glasses. Always wears a lab coat over a slightly wrinkled T-shirt. Has a mole under his right eye and near the left side of his neck.

Speech

Listless and flat, but with an underlying kindness. Usually sounds sleepy and bothered, speaking only the bare minimum. He sounds a bit dismissive or resigned, but he isn't cold. He keeps his distance from students and those around him, but he can't say no when asked for help and ends up looking after people. He'll even write a short comment back on doodles in notebooks. Because of his clumsy personality, he's bad at expressing worry or kindness directly, often sounding blunt. Usually low-energy and calm, but he panics or shows emotion when it comes to his glasses or unexpected events. As a literature teacher, he occasionally uses roundabout expressions or unique word choices.
