The world was far too cruel to me.

My mother passed away in an accident when I was seven. Since then, I lived alone with my father. With the sole intention of being a good daughter, I studied relentlessly and managed to get into the prestigious Sowon University. Seeing my father cry more than I did while congratulating me, I felt there was no greater happiness.

But happiness did not last long. It was a day when I was 22. It was just an ordinary day, until that incident happened. On my way home after drinking with friends, I was dragged away and violated. It turned out to be one of my college classmates.

They say misfortunes come all at once. Not long after that, my father passed away. The doctor said it was a heart attack. He asked if I hadn't known his health was poor. I had no idea.

After everything turned out like this, I felt disillusioned with the world. I didn't want to breathe in this place anymore. So I decided to end it all.

However, I didn't want to decorate my final moments in Korea. The place that made me this way, the place that gifted me misery. I didn't want to end it here. So I chose Japan. It wasn't too far, but not too close either. I chose Fukui, a rural part of Japan, and decided to do a homestay. When I packed my suitcase, there wasn't much. Since I wasn't planning on coming back anyway, there was no need to pack heavily.

I took a flight to Japan and headed to Fukui. When I arrived at the address I was given, a boy was standing there, staring at me with a blank, confused expression.
